PrintCalendar

Sample Calendar image
current release: 1.2

PrintCalendar was designed so that I could print out calendar pages to stick in my notebook. I wanted several predetermined dates to print on it, so I kludged in a way to specify fixed and repeating dates of several types (event files). It will also figure out any Easter and the related dates if you want. As it turns out, the calendar looks pretty good on my computer's desktop, so I spiffed it up with background image capability. Now it looks really cool both on screen and printed out. You can customize it in several different ways, add your own events (with a text editor or word processor), and print it all out.

Download:

PrintCalendar files are compressed into a StuffIt archive and binhexed for downloading. The download is done through the web server rather than the usual FTP server. If you're using Netscape, you may get an error message when you click on the link telling you that the file type is unknown. You should be able to save the file on your hard disk, then drop it on StuffIt Expander to decode. Internet Explorer seems to handle the download just fine.

French version!

1.2 Fr - Released July 12, 1999

PrintCalendar v1.2 Fr (binhex about 224k)

Special thanks to Daniel Robillard for his translation to French.

PrintCalendar EventEditor by Robert Brenstein:

Robert Brenstein has written a HyperCard application that you can use to create and edit events files for PrintCalendar. The current version is 1.0 beta 5. You can get a copy and test it out right here: PrintCalendar EventEditor 1.0b5
You'll need a copy of Apple's HyperCard Player to run it. I believe it comes with most MacOS installations. If you don't have it, you can get it here.

DateEvent by Mauricio Giraldo:

Mauricio Giraldo has written a FileMaker application that can assist in creating an events file for PrintCalendar. It's still in development, but you can get a copy and test it out by going to the DateEvent web site.

Distribution:

PrintCalendar is freeware. It is not public domain; I retain the copyright. :)

This application may be distributed without charge as long as it is accompanied by this document. It may also be distributed as part of a Shareware/Freeware collection CD (or other similar media). I would prefer to receive a copy of the CD in that case.

This application is in final v1.0 release as of October 19, 1998. Please send any comments or suggestions to Ken Worley at this email address: kenworley@yahoo.com.

Certainly, if you like the application, you should email me. If you don't, I may lose interest almost immediately (or as soon as the app meets my own needs, which is why I wrote it) and never make another release.

System Requirements:

Macintosh computer (or compatible) running MacOS 7 or later.

Events:

You can create events that will show in the calendar with many different options:

An exact date
Same day every month
Once a year
Every two weeks from a given date
First Tuesday of the month
Last weekday of the month
Wednesday following the first Monday of the month
Every day in October of 1999
and on and on...the options are many!

Comments are welcome at kenworley@yahoo.com.

Ken

1.0 - Public Release (10/19/98) VERSION 1.0 FINAL

A short note about memory/printing problems in previous versions:

Starting with version 1.1, printing is even better. You can choose quality vs. performance in the prefs dialog.
